New Equipment Installations

Buying a new heating and air conditioning system is a major decision, ranking just below paying for your home, your cars and your children’s college education. Making sure your new system is designed and installed professionally is crucial to ensuring your home’s comfort for many years to come.  iceberg

Many people feel the need to comparison shop and compare apples to apples.  But shopping for a new heating and air conditioning system is more like shopping for an iceberg.  You only see a small part of the system ie; the thermostat, the air conditioner and maybe the furnace or air handler.

In reality there is much more to the system, just like an iceberg. The sizing of the equipment must be selected by doing a load calculation. Very few Air Conditioning contractors take the time to do this. Most of them will either go along with what you already have or may take a guess based on what you say your square footage is. Guesswork, however,  can lead to under-sizing which can reduce the comfort of your home, or even worse, over-sizing, which will add unnecessary expense to the job, higher electric bills and may contribute to moisture related problems dinspecting plansown the road.

Installers should be highly trained, clean cut and courteous.  They should use carpet and floor runners, and shoe covers to protect your property. The company should be licensed, bonded and insured.  If an uninsured company’s employee has an accident on your property, you are liable.

Every duct connection in the attic should be sealed with mastic and supply boxes should be caulked/sealed at the grilles. Walls in the return air should be lined and sealed.  You won’t get the full benefit of your new heating and air conditioning system if your ductwork or returns are not addressed.

We made a decision years ago to be the very best there is at what do. Neal Air Conditioning is proud of our reputation that has been built up over the years and we intend to make sure that we maintain our good name by always being deserving of the trust that our customers have placed in us. That is why we are known as: “The Company Your Neighbors Recommend”.

Indoor Air Quality

Suffering from allergies?  Should you have your ductwork cleaned.  Maybe, maybe not. Many of our competitors, along with carpet cleaning services have been resorting to “scare tactics” to advertise their duct cleaning services.  However, if your ductwork is made of fiberglass (over 80% of residential ductwork is), cleaning your ductwork can actually damage the interior lining making your problem worse, not better.  Duct cleaning can actually aggravate health problems. So what’s the answer?

The answer lies in getting to the cause of the problem and not just trying to treat the symptom. Over the last 15 years Building Science Research and the EPA air-quality-offhave proven that residential ducts need to be sealed. Unsealed joints and loose connections in the typical ductwork system can add up to between 30 to 80 square inches of leakage area.

Supply air leaks will blow air out of the home, but the outside air which comes in to replace it is often dirty air from attics. Return air leaks usually suck in dust, insulation fibers, mold spores and other contaminants into the home from attics, crawl spaces and garages. Better air filters seem to only compound the problem by increasing infiltration from other sources.

At Neal Air Conditioning, we don’t just treat the symptoms of indoor air pollution, we will work to eliminate the cause.  Since most of us spend up to 90% of our time inside, improving air quality, especially in our homes, has become a major concern.  We have helped many of your neighbors to improve their indoor air quality.  Let us show you how we can help you markedly improve your indoor air quality also.
